Spokane Road Trip

Memorial Day weekend proved to be the perfect opportunity to take a much needed vacation. Sereena happened to have vacation around that time so we all decided to road trip up to Spokane for part of the time.

I have actually never driven further north than Chico so I was particularly excited to see the northern part of California (as well as Oregon).

We left on Friday around noon and planned on going as far as we could before we got tired. Of course we hit Friday afternoon traffic leaving the Bay Area, but once we cleared that it was smooth sailing (or driving)!

We stopped for dinner in Weed, Ca at the Hi-Lo Cafe. It was recommended to me by a coworker and it definitely was worth the stop!

Kianna was particularly excited to get out of the car. She was one crazy (but well-behaved) child at dinner and she had us all cracking up.

While we were stopped, Kianna got into her PJs, but she was also ready to drive us away.

We ended up making it to Madras, OR before we had to stop. We stayed the night at a hotel and when we woke up, Kianna loved looking out the window and seeing all the land in the area. She kept whispering "wooooooow"

We finally made it to Spokane 24 hours after we left! Kianna absolutely loved how much land grandpa had. She kept wandering all over the yard and checking out all the new things she hadn't seen before.

We spent almost all of our time at the house, but we enjoyed ourselves the entire time. We played badminton, did yard work (ok that was just Branden), played fetch with Dino, played video games, hung out, and ate delicious food. Next time I definitely want to stay for an entire week, especially if we are driving again, but it was still a great vacation and I can't wait to go back. Here are some more photos that sum up our trip:
